Our 2018 Conference on College Composition & Communication hospitality site is easy to navigate. Each page under the "Eats, Entertainment & Exploration" tab is a different neighborhood/district of Kansas City; each with its own restaurants, bars, entertainment, oddities, and culture. While you'll find a transportation recommendation for each district, all venues listed in the Downtown area are considered "walkable," (less than 0.4 mile from our conference site). Detailed information on public transit options can be found here.

North KC: urban meets suburban, 4 miles (personal car, taxi, or Uber)
River Market: vibrant outdoor city market, 0.9 miles (walkable or KC StreetCar)
West Bottoms: shopping + antique warehouse buildings, 1.4 miles (personal car, taxi, or Uber)
Downtown: entertainment and nightlife, 0.3 miles CCCC convention site (walkable)
18th & Vine: jazz district + museums + BBQ, 2.2 miles (personal car, taxi, or Uber)
Crossroads: eclectic eateries and 70+ art galleries, 1.5 miles (KC StreetCar or MAX bus system)
Union Station / Crown Center: historic train station + museums and monuments, 2 miles (KC StreetCar)
Midtown / 39th Street: funky shops and eateries, 3 miles (personal car, taxi, or Uber)
